Philosophy
Philosophy and Mission Statement:
  • Southern California Conferences and Workshops for Pre-K, TK, Kindergarten, and First Grade Educators are intended for teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, parents, and others interested in the education of children ages 4 through 7 years.
  • The conferences and workshops are designed to generate interest in the value of Early Childhood education and to enhance the education of Pre-K, TK, Kindergarten, and First Grade students by providing exemplary staff development, resources, support, and discussion of current developmentally appropriate instructional practices and issues in the classroom.
  • Through lectures, workshops, discussions, demonstrations, and exhibits, the aim is to offer content-rich discussions and materials that focus on the most current research-based and brain-based teaching methodologies.
  • The goal is to provide strategies for teaching the standards in all areas, providing strategies to teach with rigor, relevance, and relationships, and to provide ideas to incorporate play, inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and to foster all domains of development: physical, emotional, social, and intellectual.
